Odin helps people to raise and deploy capital seamlessly
We envision a world where people can vote with their money on what the future looks like, and participate in creating it.
Our first product makes it radically easier for anyone, anywhere, to launch & run an investment firm - think "Shopify for asset managers".
We handle all the “plumbing” and paperwork through one seamless platform - everything from setting up the legal structure for an investment vehicle through to processing exits.
We’re already trusted by over 10,000 VCs, angels and founders, and we're one of the fastest-growing fintechs in the UK, tripling income YoY. We've raised $3m in seed funding from top angels, family offices and VCs to support our own growth, and we are just getting started.
Responsibilities
Reporting to Paddy, one of the founders, your focus will be on:
- Lead Generation: Collaborate with Paddy to develop and execute our outbound sales strategy. You will focus on identifying and generating high-potential sales leads (ACV potential of £30k - £150k). Your targets will be partners and senior operations staff at VC and PE firms. You will seek outbound strategies that add genuine value to prospects and don't annoy them.
- Engagement & Conversion: Manage the process of converting both inbound and outbound sales leads into customers, taking ownership of smart engagement strategies to maximise conversion rates whilst minimising unnecessary work for you and your team.
- Sales Systems & Engagement Loops: Work closely with Paddy to build and organise systems that enhance lead & conversion processes. Maintain a structured CRM, and support in creating sales collateral, email sequences, and other engagement materials for leads in our sales funnel
Must-Have Qualities
- You're driven, and you love winning
- You're extremely high-urgency by default, and you have a bias for action
- You have a natural curiosity, meaning you seek to deeply understand both the product and customer needs for whatever you're selling, enabling you to sell technical products intelligently in a manner well-tailored to specific customer needs
- You love people. You know how to connect with others authentically. Both customers and team members feel valued and understood in their interactions with you, making you someone people naturally trust and want to buy from
- Resourceful and adaptive, you’re skilled at finding creative ways to generate and close leads. You understand the commercial landscape and use your instincts to identify and capitalise on high-value opportunities
- You're a great listener. You have a knack for listening carefully and communicating effectively, enabling you to grasp complex needs and articulate our value in a compelling way
- You understand what quality looks like and can effectively prioritise high-value leads, focusing on the most impactful prospects
- You demonstrate resilience and persistence in the face of challenges, committed to overcoming obstacles and achieving results
- Highly organised, you can manage a dynamic sales pipeline and keep track of key details, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. You keep your CRM and pipeline in ship-shape at all times
- You possess an innate sales instinct, able to spot opportunities, take decisive action, and consistently drive results that contribute to our growth goals
Your Experience
Must-Haves:
- You’ve got to have at least 2 years of Sales experience in a software startup, but we’re less focused on the number of years and more interested in how you demonstrate the must-have qualities for success in this role. You might have worked in other fields in the past
- You have a proven ability to understand the needs of our customers, adapt quickly, and drive sales results in a fast-paced environment
Nice-to-Haves:
- You’ve sold products in a regulated financial environment
- You’ve worked in finance-related sales, like investment banking or corporate finance
- You have experience working in VC or with companies targeting VCs and private equity firms—and maybe even bring relevant connections with you
Why You Might Not Be a Fit for This Role:
- This role may be challenging, and it will require scrappiness. If you’re looking for an established sales structure or prefer focusing solely on closing, this isn't for you. We need someone excited to build from scratch as we transition from primarily founder-led sales
- This role requires hands-on, proactive lead generation. If you just want to focus on closing leads brought to you by an SDR, this isn't for you.
- The product and service we sell is very technical, and you will be expected to develop top 1% expertise in the nuances of selling it. You'll need to gain a better knowledge of fund legal structures and regulations than many of your target customers will have. If you don't want to go deep on learning about this area, and expect to be able to "wheel in an expert" from our back office team to help you close, this isn't for you.
- In-person client engagement in London is essential. Remote flexibility is offered, but London-based and frequent client meetings are key - we'll expect you to be meeting prospects face to face 2-3 days per week. You'll also need to travel and be present at events some evenings, so flexibility on working hours is a must.
If the above doesn't sound like you, this likely isn't a good fit.
Your Location
You must be based in London, as this role involves regular in-person time with our customers and community. While we offer flexibility and remote working, candidates must be available for meetings and events in London.
Working at Odin 🖥
We encourage a balanced way of working. We’re a fast-growing startup building something very ambitious, and we expect you to work hard, and relish this challenge. However, we also offer flexibility, and we support your life outside of work so you can bring your best to the table.
Our benefits include:
- An equity option package so you can benefit from our success (you need skin in the game!)
- We have an office in Covent Garden, but we’re remote-first, so you can work from home when you don't have in-person meetings, with no obligation to use the office. For the first couple of months you'll spend time in-person with Paddy to ensure you get up to speed quickly!
- Choose your own laptop and receive an additional £1000 to spend on your home-tech setup, ensuring you have the right tools for the job
- Enjoy a £1000 yearly allowance for learning and wellness initiatives of your choosing (including gym membership). We prioritise self-care to ensure you bring your best self to work
- Receive your own expense card, eliminating out-of-pocket spending for work items and tools that matter
- Private health insurance, allowing you to do your best work
