Odin helps people to raise and deploy capital seamlessly
We envision a world where people can vote with their money on what the future looks like, and participate in creating it.
We’re starting by making it radically easier for anyone, anywhere, to launch & run an angel syndicate or venture firm.
We handle all the “plumbing” through one seamless platform - everything from setting up the legal structure for an investment vehicle through to processing payments.
We’re already trusted by over 7,000 VCs, angels and founders, and we are just getting started.
The Role
Reporting to our Financial Operations Lead, with a dotted line to the founders, you’ll be responsible for:
- Owning the SPV Process: Taking charge of the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) process from a FinOps perspective, managing tasks such as setting up legal entities, investment closing, processing refunds, dealing with exits, and overseeing other investment events and regulatory reporting
- Documentation: Meticulously documenting all SPV processes and proposing enhancements and automations to streamline our operations
- Implementation of Improvements: Internally implementing SPV process improvements and collaborating with the Product team on automation and productisation
- Customer Interaction: Directly liaising with customers at every stage of the process, noting feedback and identifying pain points to enhance their experience
This role extends beyond managing day-to-day processes. Your mission to optimise, streamline, and automate existing operations for enhanced efficiency.
Mentorship and Learning Opportunities
In addition to your core responsibilities, you'll receive mentorship directly from our Founders and Leadership team. We believe in nurturing talent and are committed to supporting your professional growth. This one-year placement is brilliant if you want to collaborate with different teams and gain early business exposure that will help accelerate your career.
Must-Have Qualities
- You have a drive to understand in detail how things fit together. It’s not just about execution for you; you want to get into the nuts and bolts of how things are happening and why
- You’re a problem solver. You diligently resolve any challenges our customers face and act as their strategic partner to ensure they achieve their goals
- Your mindset sets you apart. Beyond adeptly manoeuvring through spreadsheets, you recognise that to achieve process automation, leveraging technology is essential
- You’re organised and focused. You know what it takes to get the job done, and you prioritise tasks logically so you’re doing the most to move the needle
- You have a deep need to improve processes. You’re not satisfied with manual operations, and you know how to spot an unorganised, inefficient process. You’re proactive in leading internal changes that optimise the entire company's approach
- You know how to balance multiple goals, tasks and priorities. You’re comfortable when given more than one task, and you thrive when given the autonomy to execute
- You’re proactive. You’re always on the front foot, pre-empting any issues or concerns with urgency and care
Your Experience & Background
While we consider the outlined qualities indispensable for this role, we believe success in this role can stem from diverse backgrounds. You may fall into one of the following categories:
Must-Have
- Recent graduates seeking a post-graduation internship are encouraged to apply
- Or, if you are currently enrolled in a university or a program and eager to commence a one-year placement at the earliest opportunity, we welcome your application
The Hiring Process
- Interview with Imani, our People & Talent Lead - Here, you’ll unpack the role, learn more about us, and she'll ensure you're the right fit for the position
- Interview with Lucy, our Financial Operations Lead - Now that you're in the running, it's time to spend some time unpacking your experience with the hiring manager
- Challenge & In-depth Review with Lucy - By this stage, we believe you're pretty great, so we’ll share a task to assess how well you'd perform in the role
- Final Interview with Mary, our Co-CEO & Co-Founder - At this stage, we're genuinely excited and believe it's fitting for you to spend some time with one of the founders
Before each interview, we'll prepare you for what to expect, and regardless of the outcome, once you’re in our process, we'll provide detailed feedback within 24 hours of an interview. Our process typically takes two weeks, sometimes shorter, or perhaps a bit longer; we'll accommodate your availability and are happy to make any hiring adjustments along the way.
Salary
The salary band for this role is £20,000 - £30,000 + equity options. We'll consider where your experience falls within our framework. During our process, we'll take your experience and capabilities into consideration and use our internal levelling to assess your salary at Odin.
